Camp MiMi 2010

DISCLAIMER: I am sorry I have no pictures. I forgot to take my camera.

On Sunday after church and lunch I picked up Ma Ma(my grandmother) at my Aunt May-ran's (a.k.a Mary Ann). That is how we talk in my family. My grandmother is Thelmer (Thelma). I won't go through the whole family, but you get the idea. So me, Ma Ma and the boys headed to L.A.(lower Anderson). We stopped in Gaffney to buy some peaches. I think according to the law of Ma Ma you can't ride through Gaffney with out stopping for peaches. We dropped Ma Ma off at her house and rushed to Mimi's. When we got to Mimi's she promptly ran past me and straight for the boys. I would expect no less. Then she said "Oh yeah, you came too!" I stayed through Tuesday so I would have time to visit and see if Mom's furniture and house would stand up to 3 boys. Sunday night Morgan slept with me. Very good bed buddy. He stays on his side, does not steal the covers makes no noises. Monday night I slept with Jack. He prefers to sleep sideways, does not steal covers but is like sleeping with someone who chews ice in their sleep. He grinds his teeth. I hope he grows out of this because, if he does that every night like that, he will need dentures soon. When more of his permanent teeth come in we may have to get him a mouth guard. So I left them there and can't wait to get them back on Saturday. But I do plan to enjoy my time with my hubby. Who by the way I am neglecting to blog but not for long. I hope that we will be able to have a date before they return. But of course the week the kids are gone he has to go into the office two days.

The boy's birthday party!

I know, I know, Morgan's birthday is in May and Jack's was in June but this was the first day we could get it all together. In May Morgan said he wanted a swim party and Jack said he wanted one too! I asked if they minded having one together. Thank goodness they did not. We invited a few friends for each of them.
Here are the kids playing in the pool.
Morgan opening his gifts. He got some really cool stuff.

Jack tearing through his gifts, also some very cool stuff.

Morgan showing off his mad skilz.

Jaden enjoying some b-day cake.

The boys waiting patiently to blow out their candles.

Still waiting...

Pictures are a little out of order but, I am not computer savvy enough to fix them(and I am lazy).

Morgan's cake. He requested Round, Chocolate cake, Chocolate Icing and Chocolate chips. Not pretty but we shared with a random boy at the pool. After he finished it he asked if I made cakes professionally. lol

Jack's cake. He requested Square, chocolate cake, chocolate icing. Also not very pretty but very delicious.

Train and Cow Appreciation Day

Today I took the boys to Lineberger Park to ride the train. It goes around in a big circle through a tunnel, under a bridge three times and then back to the station. It's a dollar per person per ride so that's pretty cheap.

Jack and Jaden enjoying their bank suckers and waiting for their turn.

All aboard!!! I was telling Morgan to put Jaden in the middle.

Now that's better.

Jaden enjoying the breeze in his hair. He LOVES trains. More time Mommy, more time! he said while holding up one finger.

That is why his ears and sides of his face was sticky. When you go into the tunnel they blow the whistle. After it blew he would scream yay!

We were at the playground in the middle of the train track and every time it would go by Jaden ran to the fence.

The boys going under the bridge.

Back at the station.

After the train and playground a friend talked us into going to Chick a play as Jack used to call it. It was "Cow Appreciation Day". If you dressed like a cow from head to toe you got a free meal. If you were partially cow you got a free sandwich. We fell into the second group.

Here are the boys in their cow shirts. I just cut out brown pieces of paper and taped them to white shirts. I did not have black construction paper.

Next year I am going all out like the Johnson's. They tie-dyed their shirts, painted their faces, made signs and had tails. I will plan better next year. As we left the parking lot I ran into a pregnant friend and her girls were dressed up but she was not so I gave her my T-shirt and told her to pass it on. It's been a great day and it is not even over yet... Oh yeah after that I went and got my toes did.

You can't really tell from the picture but they are pink with white tips. Like a french manicure. The lady looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her to do it like that. But a friend of mine had hers navy blue with white tips... it looked sooo cool.

Fourth of July, 2010

On July 3rd, our pool had 4th of July festivities. They had critter crawl in the baby pool for 5 and under. Jaden found frogs, lobsters, and lizards. Then they had the noodle relay for the kids 5 and up. Jack did not want to participate but Morgan did and I am not sure where he placed, but everyone got a prize.

Morgan and his buddies with their pixie stix.

Next up was the money toss. Jaden got about .45 and Morgan got about .75. Jack was very upset because he was not able to get any. He was the youngest in his age group. I told him he would do better next year. A friend shared some of her money with him.

Then there was the biggest splash contest. Morgan made it into the final 5.
Here is a picture of Morgan in the final 5.
This is his final jump. He came in third out of the final five. He was so proud and so were we.

This was Jaden enjoying his watermelon. And for those of you who remember Jack's watermelon eating from years past. He still eats it down to the rind and has juice running down his tummy. That boy loves him some watermelon.

Another picture of Morgan with his prized pixie stick.
The final task was the underwater swim. The object was to swim from one side of the pool as far as you could without coming up for air. Morgan swam from the wall (he did not dive in) for more than half the length of the pool. That is the farthest he has ever swam without coming up for a breath. He came in third. He got a cow tail. That is the first time he had ever had one. He loved it and wanted to get some at the grocery store.

Dressed up for the 4th.
I took a couple of pictures of the boys Sunday morning before church. You can't tell from the picture but Jack has on a red, white and blue plaid shirt. They were so cute and did very well for the picture.
We went to the fireworks show in downtown Gastonia. It was a wonderful show. Everyone that went off was Jaden's favorite.
My friend Tyann brought a smores maker. The kids loved it and enjoyed making smores.

At the end of the night Jaden and I tested out my friend Christa's bike and baby seat. Jaden loved it. "Do it again, Mommy!" is what he kept saying. We are planning a trip to the Virginia Creeper Trail this fall. All in all it was a great day!
